Kasey Weaver and Caleb Harris Double Up

Kasey Weaver / Caleb Harris

Winchester Speedway hosted a unique event in that with forty sprinters signing in the owner decided we would split the field in to two groups and run two complete races for the field.

Heat races kicked off the night with Reed Thompson and Landon Priced headed to feature one and Kolby Weaver and Zach Rhodes headed to feature two.

On to feature one with Kasey Weaver and Ken Duke jr. pacing the field to green with Weaver out first and Duke right behind.

The twenty-lap feature was going by fast and even after a couple quick yellows for spinners Weaver would stay steady and in control even with charges from Duke who was holding off Austin Reed.

With one to go the front of the field was nose to tail but Kasey Weaver would not waver and flashed under the Checkered flag first.

At the line for Feature one it was Kasey Weaver, Ken Duke jr., Austin Reed, Brad Mellot, Drew Young, Landon Price, Reed Thompson, Colton Hendershot, John Scarborough, Daren Bolac, Jeff Weaver, Croix Beasom, Donnie Hendershot, Doug Dotson, Todd Lynn, Jarrett Cavalet, Kruz Kepner, Chris Humblet, Matthew Leach and Ben Miklos.

On to the second feature it with Dale Schweikart and Caleb Harris at the front as the green waved with Schweikart moving to the front and Harris staying second with Hunter McFadden and Fred Arnold right behind.

Like the first feature even with a couple quick yellows for a stalled car and a spinner Schweikart was strong out front leaving the others to fight over the other top spots.

With a few laps to go Schweikart showed his smooth quick pace and went under the white flag with a few car lengths cushion but going in to four headed for the checkered flag a stopped spun car was unavoidable and his night ended right there.

On the re-start Caleb Harris took of and made no mistakes with the pressure from behind flashing under the waving checkered flag for his first win ever.

Feature Two at the line it was Caleb Harris, Hunter McFadden, Fred Arnold, Ryan Lynn, Mike Melair, Braeden Varner, Dylan Shatzer, Colton Moyer, Jerald Harris, Paul Moyer, Matt Kline, Matt Mullins, Zach Rhodes, Kolby Weaver, Chris Ware, Dale Schweikart, John Smith, French Grimes, Jimmy Humblet and Aaron Leach.
